On May 13th, we proudly announced the expansion of our Memphis manufacturing facility, gathering with the key partners who helped make it possible. As the only U.S. manufacturer of 765kV power transformers, this expansion solidifies our role in strengthening the nation’s energy infrastructure. More than just a facility upgrade, it’s a commitment to energizing both the grid and the economy—one transformer at a time.

HICO at Memphis in May: A Celebration of Culture &Community
To keep the momentum of celebration and connection going, HICO was proud to sponsor Memphis in May’s World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, which this year honored South Korea—a perfect tribute to our company’s heritage.
We brought that heritage to life through our custom-designed Korean-themed hospitality tent, which became a standout feature of the event. Here’s how we fused Korean culture with Southern hospitality:
- Korean Décor Highlights: Guests were welcomed by vibrant floral arrangements inspired by native Korean flowers, created by a local to Memphis, woman owned florist—all set against our signature blue-and-white to reflect HICO’s identity.
- Signature Soju Tastings: No Korean celebration is complete without Soju. Guests enjoyed tastings of Korea’s iconic beverage in a relaxed, festive environment. Thank you to Gorae Soju for the delicious collaboration!
- Community, Culture, and Pride: Most importantly, the tent became a gathering place for our people and our partners. It was a place to celebrate not just HICO’s expansion, but the culture, collaboration, and commitment that made it possible.
