HICO America is proud to announce the completion and shipment of eight high-capacity transformers from our Hyosung HICO manufacturing facility in Memphis to Silicon Ranch Corporation. These transformers will play a crucial role in powering solar energy projects across Tennessee, supporting a combined capacity of 1,447 MVA, with 807 MVA dedicated specifically to solar generation.
Advancing Renewable Energy Infrastructure
This significant milestone underscores our commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure through advanced manufacturing. Our state-of-the-art facility in Memphis, which opened in February 2020, has rapidly become a cornerstone of domestic transformer production. As the only facility in the US capable of producing power transformers up to and including 765kV, we are uniquely positioned to meet the growing demands of the renewable energy sector.
Strengthening Domestic Manufacturing
The partnership between HICO America and Silicon Ranch exemplifies the power of domestic manufacturing in driving the clean energy transition. By producing these transformers locally, we are not only supporting Silicon Ranch's projects but also contributing to the broader goal of strengthening the US manufacturing base in the renewable energy sector.
